No real-time protection in WindowsDefender

I just installed Windows Defender and cannot find a way to enable Real-Time
Protection as it says in
"http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/support/howto/realtimeprotect.mspx.
Otherwise it seems to run fine. Is there a problem with my installation?

Hi there, open DEFENDER, click on TOOLS, GENERAL SETTINGS, and SCROLL DOWN!
There it is! Please notice the box with: apply actions after scanning. I
myself have turned this OFF so that I can check for myself which action to
take. Please read carefully all of the text and boxes in DEFENDER! It is very

Real Time Protection is provided by a system service. Go to a command
prompt and type:

net start <enter>

and see if Windows Defender is listed near the end of the list. If
so--you're protected.
