Not sure what the problem is. I have XP Pro on two machines. The computers
can see each other as part of the Microsoft Windows Network, Workgroups that
they are both in. The receiving machine is set to allow RD connections in
the Firewall settings. The RD is checked in Remote Desktop under System in
Control Panel. In the client machine, I go to the RD Connection app, and
when trying to find the host computer, I get "The Home domain/workgroup does
not contain any Terminal servers." From what I've seen here in the posts, I
understand that Terminal servers were the old, pre XP versions of remote
desktop connections. So it makes me wonder whether something is wrong here,
or MS just didn't update the terminology in the error messages. Either way,
I am stumped as to why this isn't working. At one time, this all worked
fine. But this was before several reinstalls over the past year or so, and
updates to service packs and such.
Any help?
