No RC1 updates?

Granted I've only had RC1 for about a week now (didn't try the previous
betas), but I've noticed that the only thing updating is Defender. Just
curious if Microsoft is known to update betas in their current form or do
they save it for the next candidate instead? If they're saving for RC2,
any guesses on how long it will be until it's released?

Mostly Defender, but there has been some other updates to the Beta2, one
of the upgrades didn't actually upgrade anything (to my knowledge) but
was a test if it was possible to update some parts of Vista.

I'm sure there will be some updates. They did updates (several) for
Beta 2 build 5384. Some IE updates and some specific OS updates
were done for Beta 2.

Windows Update did find, right away, numerous updates
to Office 2003 after I installed it.

I don't think they are doing a RC2.

It will be a stealth release. They are going to call it RTM gold LOL

You will see updates as MS continues to ready RC1 for Vista Gold. You may
also see device driver updates, depending on your hardware.

David;
Normally for a Microsoft Beta, no updates is the norm.
An obvious exception is Windows Defender.
Instead of updates, there will be a new build.

AFAIK, there has been one update in the last several months.
I am not counting the several that had the sole purpose of testing the
update system since they had no substance.

The Tech Beta testers typically get a new build every 3 - 6 weeks while the
public releases is less predictable.

Remember this is Beta and you need to use at your own risk.
That includes accepting the consequences of any vulnerability, known or
unknown.
