I am a High School teacher, we just received a new computer lab (30
computers) but the PowerPoint application does not have the standard library
of sounds (applause, explosion, chime, etc) for insertion into slides. It is
if the Clip file for sounds was not installed. Do the sounds need to be
activated or is there a way to download? Thanks.

What version of PowerPoint is it?

If 2003, the sounds will be located in:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\MEDIA

This is true for single-user installs; I doubt it'd be different for multiple
user windows systems but I could be mistaken.

First, check to see if you have that folder and if so, whether there are sound
files in it.

If they're not there, do a Windows Explorer search for *.WAV files on your PC.
If you find the files elsewhere, copy them to this folder and see if that helps.

If they're there, it may be a permissions issue.
