I received an email from a friend of mine, but the attachment won't open. It
says that the file does not have a program associated with it. I upgraded
from IE6 to IE7 yesterday. Is there a problem when I upgraded?

What is the file extension of the attachment? What e-mail client do you use?

No, you simply have to create an estension association for it. See Help
for details on how. No program has been assigned to open whatever the
extension of that file is. You are certain your friend sent you an
attachment and it's not a virus, right?. If not, ask him.

I think I found the problem, but not sure. The attachment ends with .pps. Is
that Power Point? If it is, I don't have it on my pc. Is there any other way
I can open this?
No, it is not a virus.

You don't need PowerPoint on your system all you need is the Microsoft
PowerPoint viewer. The same applies if someone sends you an Access, Excel or
Word attachment, just install the relevant viewer to be able to read the
contents. The link below will take you to the PowerPoint viewer.

I'm glad you've finally got it sorted.
