Help!! I have lost the ability to print on both of my
printers. I have an Epson Acculaser C4000 on LPT1 and an
Epson 680 on USB. I have tried removing the printers and
restarting the system. It correctly detects both of them
on restart. I have downloaded the latest drivers from
Epson and installed them. When I attempt to print on LPT1
I get the error message "Communication Error. Check
connections and power". I get no error message on the USB
connection, but nothing happens. I have swapped the
printer connections over, i.e. Laser on usb and Ink jet on
LPT1, with the same result. Both printers self-test
properly. I am now totally baffled after about 15 hours
of trying to sort this. BTW both printers worked fine 48
hrs ago.

All suggestions gratefully received.

TIA

Keith

Do you have several user accounts set up on your system? The user accounts
feature is great but it can be a pain in the ass when it comes to problems
just like the one you describe. Check your account information to see if
the printers are accessible in all the accounts you care to use.

Thanks Kevin,

I've only got one account on the system. I've now reinstalled Windows to no
avail and am now thinking of finding large hammer !!
