My printer stopped working. I went through all of the
Help and I ended up discovering that under "Services" I
do not have a "Printer Spooler." The file "spoolsv"
still exists but the service does not work. When I try
to reinstall the printer, I get the message "The RPC
server is unavailable."

Basically, I need to know how to get the Printer Spooler
to work. It is not listed in the Services.

Can anyone help?

btw My printer is a Lexmark Z52.

It's a Lexmark! That's a big enough problem in itself!

Follow Bruce Sanderson's instructions on how to COMPLETELY blitz all
remnants of the drivers and the Lexmark 'extras'. Disconnect the printer
FIRST.

After cleaning, reboot the printer. Download a new set of drivers from the
Lexmark website at www.lexmark.com.

Install the software. Do NOT connect the printer until the software tells
you to do so.

I did exactly like that site told me to do, but I am
still not able to print. When I get to where it says to
key the commands "net stop spooler" and "net start
spooler", nothing happens. What do you suggest I do?

Is there an error message in the Event Viewer that might give some clue as
to what is happening when you try to start the print spooler and it appears
it doesn't start?

if i go to the command prompt and enter net start
spooler... i get the following message: The service name
is invalid.

If i go to Run and enter the same thing... I can see a
quick flash on the screen and it disappears.

That is all that happens..
