No Preview of JPEG Files

It appears that I somehow striped the Data from my jpeg files and now I can
not view and Photos in and of my programs
how do I recover these files or the data?

I just experienced the same thing. I can see the thumbnail in the Picture Viewer, but cannot click to open in a larger window. The JPEG info seems to be intact with the small thumbnail (image, file size and date), but then is not available when selected.

Any ideas
