Hi,

I would like to know if there is a way to allow all my domian users to
install an application themselves. I need to roll-out an application
to about 100 workstations and would like the users to run a
self-extracting .exe. I don't want them to be able to do this all the
time, only for this install. They currently have "Domain Users". I was
going to add them to the "Power Users" group but found out that it
does not exist in AD only on local machine. Is there a way to allow
Domain Users to install an application when needed without purchasing
a third party tool? All my workstations are Windows XP Professional
with SP1 and on a AD Domain. Thanks in advance. Beano

Will the application installation use Windows Installer?

You can the use, Always install with elevated privileges. This let you
publish the application with InteIMirror (Group Policy Software
Installations) in Active Directory.
