I created a database a few months ago and recently added
security using the workgroup administrator. Unfortunatley
on one form I have no way of accessing it other than open
permission. This is even when loggin on as admin. When I
check the user permissions even the Admin Group and Admin
user do not have permission to this form. Can not export
it to another database or anything. It just so happens to
be one on the most inmportant forms on our database and I
have no control whatsoever. When I try and give design /
read, modify design or Administer permission to this form
I get the error "You must have Administer rights". Please
can anyone help because as it stands I can't do anything
with this form.
Many thaks in anticipation of a response. Leon

Can you see who the owner of the form is (Security, Permissions, Ownership
tab)?

It's possible that this form is owned by a user that is not in your mdw
(perhaps another mdw that was used along the way)?

You may find that recreating the form would be quicker/easier/less stressful
than trying to regain control.

If it's unknown, then my assumption is correct. The user that owns the form
is not a user in the mdw file you are using.

You'll need to put this user (with correct PID) into your current mdw, or
find the original mdw file that was used.

Is that my only option? No way of taking ownership of the
form or stripping the security off it?

Thanks in anticipation. Leon

Well, if you could take ownership that easily, then anyone could, no? So
what would be the point of security?
