If you somehow set a password for the BIOS, you obviously won't be able to
find it. IIRC, you can reset the CMOS memory that stores the changed BIOS
settings by pulling the battery and reinserting it. (CMOS doesn't take much
power, so the battery will likely be one of those button types, or else very
small cylinder.) This also clears the password. There may be utilities that
enable you to read and reset the BIOS after booting from a floppy, but I
don't know of any.

If you lost the password for W2K, there are programs bootable from floppy
disk that allow you to find, change and reset the password. They're not
cheap, and they are not easy to use. I had the same problem, and ended up
reinstalling W2K (all data was stored on another partition, so I lost nothing
valuable, just had the hassle of reinstalling every application. Bah!)

is this a laptop?? if so you can get cmoskiller it
deletes the password on laptop bios, I used it this year
and it works great. Just do a search on google.com

this sounds like it's going directly to the bios logon menu
and this is odd, it should go directly to the operating
system. are you sure you even have an operating system on
your HD??
