I recently stumbled across - and promptly lost - a way to set the IE browser
so that no page comes up when it's opened. Not with the "Use Blank" option,
but by adding a word like "nopage" somewhere. You can still open the
brower's "homepage" by clicking on the "Home" icon on the toolbar. Anybody
know what I'm talking about? TIA

I think you are referring to the -nohome command line switch, right?
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome

that's it... I guess I put that line as the "target" in my IE-launch
icon(s)? Thanks

Yes, put that -nohome switch after ...iexplore.exe in the Target box of the shortcut properties. Just leave one space in-between the ".exe" and "-nohome".

Hi,

I have a similar situation. How do I access the file to
make the change? I am unable to reset my IE start page
through the Internet Properties menu.

If you used Spybots Immunize feature, turn that off, change your Home Page,
and turn Immunize back on.
