no open/save dialog

bluefreak

whenever i try to download something in ie, i click on it.
but there is no download box asking whether to save/open.
it still works if i right click and save target as, but i
want to open some docs. how do i get it back? is it
because of download accelarator plus, cause i disbled it
and yet it still wont come out with the ie download box.

i posted this about 2 days ago, and some people tell me to
check comfirm after open box. but this prob is for every
file i download regardless of extension. and anyway all
the boxes are checked. plz help me on this, preferably by
email.
 
Hi,

Disable third-party download manager (DAP) in registry and use Internet
Explore default download interface (for troubleshooting purpose)

Click Start | Run | Regedit
Goto this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
Choose file > Export and save it as a .REG file (as a backup)
In the right-pane, change the data for "DownloadUI" to blank.
Logoff and re-login
Download a software.

It might be the security settings in IE.

In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
On the Privacy tab, click "custom level" and enable Downloading files.
