No 'New Hardware Found' message for Kodak CX7430 Digital Camera

When I plug in Kodak CX730 Digital Camera USB into my computer, there is no
'New Hardware Found' message appear and I cannot access camera's memory.
Anybody know this problem and how to fix it? I am using Window XP Prof.

I have the same problem with a Canon A520 that I tried to load yesterday in
XP.

My new hardware found comes on, but then I get a hardware error when trying
to use the transfer program. So, maybe these problems are related.
