No new drivers recognized

I have 3 USB devices with matching drivers on my hdd, but
add hdw wizard says that the directory i have the drivers
in "does not contain information about my hardware". I
have this problem installing new VGA card and also a MOBO
USB Hub.
This is driving me nuts as XP will not recognize ANY new
drivers; I am sure it is not a driver signing
compatibility issue. Also WinUpdate does not fix it.

Please help!
 
This did not help, though i think a few smaller issues were
repaired. :-) thanx!

XP still wont grab driver info from the .inf files i have
on the hdd. :-(
 
If the vendors wrote their INFs correctly, then XP should be able to "see"
the drivers you are pointing the Hardware Wizard to. Are you sure these
programs don't have their own installs? Have you the latest drivers from the
vendor sites?

Just a guess.

Are you sure they are XP drivers and not maybe 98 drivers?
