No name of program ??

Every so often i get a alert with antispyware saying that a start up program
is trying to be added but it does not give a name or location just a dot (.)
it dosnt matter if i allow it or block it and rember my action it still
comes up but worst of all i dont know what is causing it ! any help would
be very helpfull thanks in advance, Ian
 
You might look at Tools, real-time protection, view all blocked events to
see whether there's anything more readable or useful recorded there.

Have you tried scanning in Safe mode, with the latest definitions?

This could be an ongoing infection of some sort--if your Antivirus is
sub-par, you might consider an online scan from a reputable vendor:
