Please Help....I have made a video on WMM2, I have added a song track which I
have faded in & out using the volume control, audio <> video. When I download
on to my CD or safe to my computer I only have the video sounds.

Hello,

You may have made a mistake I once made. In order to vary the volume at
different points you have to cut the audio track into small sections and then
adjust each section separately. This means that unless you are happy making a
lot of very small cuts so that you can gradually reduce and later raise the
volume, you end up with garish jumps in the volume. In addition, if you do not
make those cuts the result is that the final adjustment you made is the one
that applies to the whole section of video..

There are a couple of ways around the problem....the first would be ...

1) Edit the whole video doing nothing with the volume at all
2) Create a video file using the option FILE > SAVE MOVIE FILE
3) Import that video to Movie Maker and in a new project drag it down to the
lower audio track (put nothing on the video track)
4) Export this using the same option as above...the result will be a WMA (audio
file)
5) Import that to a program like Audacity and using the various options
available raise and lower the track saving the result as a WAV file...be
careful to not increase the duration as this will cause things to go out of
sync
6) Create a new project in Movie Maker using the file created at step 2 for the
video
7) Mute the audio associated with the video
8) Import the audio file created at step 5 and drag that to the lower Audio
track in Mm
9) Save the whole thing in the video format of your choice.

Does that sound like a lot of work????

Here is option 2

A) Import video to the program MovieXone
B) Edit Video and Audio using the inbuilt options
C) Save file

MovieXone is a free program given away on a few computer magazine disks, I have
seen it twice of the Mag PC Utilities and I think for a small cost you can
download it from the Mag's web site (I have never been down that road so I am
not sure of what is involved). MovieXone allows the control of volume on a per
frame basis or if you select a length of time and vary the volume at the end of
that section you get a smooth transition between the two levels. MovieXone has
a few other nice features...best go look if you are interested.
