My ThinkPad laptop has a built-in mouse (called a TrackPoint) and I was
using an exernal Logitech mouse. Because the wrong Logitech mouse was beign
recognized, I re-installed the logitech drivers. Now, I not only have no
mouse, I don't even have a mouse pointer! (I'm getting around using keyboard
commands)
I've uninstalled the Logitech drivers. I uninstalled and then reinstalled
the Trackpoint drivers. No pointer.
Device manager shows the mouse with a yellow circle with explamation point.
The error in device manager says "The device cannot start (Code 10)"
It's not a hardware problem because an older hard drive gives me a working
mouse when put into the laptop.
I found this: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=245386
and ran the driver update wizard - no mouse pointer. I suspect that I need
to change the order in which the mouse driver is being loaded, but I don't
know how to do that.
The system has been FLAWLESS until now. I could really use some help to get
my mouse back...
HELP! PLEASE!
