I just updated my software to Windows XP sp1 (after much
difficulty due to dial up connection), and now my USB
mouse does not work. The problem began when I re-booted
after the install completed. Can anyone help me?
I have a 1 month old Dell Dimension 4600, running XP sp1
with a logitech roller-scroll usb mouse. I've tried
several ports, also tried an old serial mouse, and
rebooted between each switch. The computer shows an arrow
on the screen, but doesn't seem to recognize that the
arrow is supposed to be attached to any kind of hardware.
I downloaded the drivers from Dell, but the computer
doesn't care about the driver because it doesn't seem to
detect any mouse hardware. The mouse also does not light
up on the bottom at all the way it normally would.
Haven't seen any other reports like this one. PLEASE help
heal my computer!!
