No more streaming

I have WinXP and IE6.

For my stocks portfolio I used to look daily at the Yahoo Finance Home Page
to see the intraday movements of the Dow/Nasdaq and S&P500 movements
including my 5 stock picks. Streaming was going on all fine in the past. But
for the past few days the streaming has stopped and I have to hit the
Refresh button every so often to get the latest updates.

Stating the problem to Yahoo has not produced any solution. What could be
wrong?
TIA

Hi,
Couldn't hurt, might help, to clear the Temporary Internet Files.

Check this setting...
Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone> Custom Level> Allow META REFRESH
(enable.)

In the event that one or more other settings are involved, you might try
placing the site in Trusted Sites.
To add a trusted site... Internet Options> Security> Trusted Sites> Uncheck
"Require server verification" and enter the site as (for example)
*.yahoo.com

Hope this helps,

Did that
Check this setting...
Internet Options> Security> Internet Zone> Custom Level> Allow META
REFRESH

This was enabld by default, so I left it like that.

Did that.

Wanted to try it out yesterday, but it was a holiday in the U.S. So I try it
out today, but unfortunately there is still no streaming. What next?
Hope this helps,

Hi Don

Yahoo has suggested that my Browser may have some corruptions. Is there any
repair procedure that I can do?
TIA

Hi,
Sorry, I lost track of this thread.

For IE6 on XP, try
1. ie-rereg from
http://iefaq.info/index.php?action=artikel&cat=24&id=31&artlang=en
2. IEFix from: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm

A browser add-on may be causing this problem.
[XP SP2] From IE> Tools> Manage add-ons. Disable non-microsoft add-ons to
see if one of them is the culprit.
[Non SP2] Internet Options> Advanced> uncheck "Enable third-party browser
extensions." If either of these helps, you still need to find the
troublesome program. BHO or add-on.
ToolbarCop from http://windowsxp.mvps.org/toolbarcop.htm will help identify
and remove add-ons.

Has a third-party security program been installed, reinstalled or updated?
Disable (for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers,
security, toolbars and other add-ons for IE, anti-virus, etc. Take a look at
any program that might be interfering with IE. You may have to reconfigure
or reinstall a program. Turn on the Windows Firewall (from Control Panel or
Security Center) before disabling a third-party firewall.
