Hia,

I have a starnge problem:

We have a Linux PC in the office which has two network cards and me and
a colleague connect our laptops through a switch to that Linux PC,
effectively using it as a router.
From one day to another with for no apparent reason my network
connection doesnt work anymore.

- My friends laptop still connects to the internet, mine using the
exact same settings (other/same IP) wouldn't!
- I have tried different IP's etc...
- I can ping my frinds Laptop (from cmd) but not the router or any
other outside IP! (The IP forwarding doesnt seem to work?)
- If I run my laptop under linux everything works fine, so the network
card should be fine.
- I have downloaded the most recent driver from Acer, no effect.

Sorry guys I am running out of ideas! Any hint is more than welcome!
THANKS!

Cheers
Ulli

If you can't ping the linux box, and the linux box is your router, that
would explain why you can't reach any other outside addresses. Tried
rebooting the linux box?
If your linux box is not your router, then I don't know why you need it to
get to each other's laptops.
