No more "Include Animations"?

For the past several years my company has relied on the "Include Animations" option in the print dialog to get certain content in author-submitted PPTs to print. Now as of PowerPoint 2002 it appears that option is gone

Is it truly gone, or is it just hiding elsewhere? I can find no documentation about its removal. Why on earth would MS decide it was necessary to remove this? This is an important feature to us

TIA

It's truly gone.

My guess as to why -- and it's only a guess, mind you -- is that with
nonlinear animation such as was introduced in PPT 2002, it would be very
difficult to determine what to print on what slide.

You might see if Shyam's Capture Show addin will do what you want, though.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint 2002 and PowerPoint 2003 do not have the capability to print
with animations (due to the complexity and non-sequential possibilities
added to animation effects beginning with PowerPoint 2002).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) feel strongly that some kind
feature for printing slides/handouts/notes other than how they appear in
normal/slide view, don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS,
please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible. Each submission should be
a single suggestion (not a list of suggestions).

That's exactly what I was trying to say earlier. But you said it much
better -- and, of course, confirmed my guess. Thanks for that.
