I recently had my computer reformated by a friend of mine since I know
nothing about them and he used all the cd's that came with it to
reinstall, but now I cant hear any music, but when I turn the speakers on and
off you can hear the power to them, what can I do?

It looks like the drivers for your soundcard were not on those CDs to
be installed. You may need to open your PC case and look at the brandname
of the soundcard (where you plug in your speakers) and go to the
manufacturers website and download the drivers. They are free.
But first check here: Start>Run>type DEVMGMT.MSC and press OK.
Now scroll down to Sound, Video and Game Controllers and see if anything
is listed and/or if there is a yellow exclamation (!) or question(?) mark
showing, which indicates you are having audio problems.
