No media inside recording device

When I try to burn a DVD on my dc4000 from the Arc soft Show Biz file I get the above statement. What do i need to do? Running on a WINDOWS XP set up.
 
The good news is that you seem to have gotten further
with your dc4000 than I did with my dc3000 -- device
detection was a real coin-flip in my case as it failed
about 90% of the time -- the other 10% of the time it
would eventually lose the connection 100% of the time.
