No Media for OEM XP Home

Hi,

I have IBM Pc.
I got XP Home OEM Edition preloded on it. I have formated my PC. Now i
want to install xp home and want to activate it. I dont have Media.
IBM dont provide it. If i use other media it is not activating with my
key. What should i do??

IBM (as any other OEM) are obliged to provide you with a method of returning
your machine to the state in which you bought it - consult your User manual
on how to do this. You DID do that BEFORE you started this process?

Your IBM PC almost certainly (every one that I have worked on recently
did) came with a hidden "System Recovery" partition on the hard drive
and a utility program that would allow you to create an installation
disk from the information in this partition.

If you failed to make this disk and if you have deleted or formatted
the recovery partition then you are in a bit of a bind. You do need
the proper IBM installation CD to work with your IBM product key.

If you contact IBM technical support by telephone they will *sell* you
an installation CD for your specific computer model. A client of
mine recently purchased one and it cost them about $50.
