no longer get email since upgrading Office 2000 to 2003

Qwest checked my email account and there's no problem except I can't receive
email since upgrading this morning to Office 2003 from Office 2000. I can
send OK. I've checked "save this password" in the account set up box, but it
doesn't save it. or at least doesn't recognize it, since I am asked
repeatedly to enter the password again. Any suggestions? I'll appreciate
any ideas.
 
There have been several recent issues with passwords not being retained with
Outlook. Here are the known solutions:

For Outlook 2000 or 2002 on Win 98, NT, or 2000:

For all Outlook versions on Windows XP (note, this article is written for OE
