I use a Virtual Private Network connection to connect to a
remote server with a Cisco VPN.

When I launch the connection, prompt appears and says that
connexion is done.
When I ping the server, I have reply. But when I tape when
to go on the server, I have the following message

'\\servername is not accessible.
There are currently no logon servers available to service
the logon request.'

What is it? How to fix it?

When you say you ping the server, do you ping by name or IP? Make sure your
DNS settings points to the DNS server in your domain. This can be tricky
since you can't reach the DNS server until your VPN connection is setup. I
do this at home, and have configured the Cisco VPN dialer to start when I'm
prompted for logon details. I then setup the VPN connection prior to logging
on to the domain that my computer belongs to. It works like a charm.

Also make sure that these ports are allowed through the connection:

DNS: 53 tcp/udp
Kerberos: 88 tcp/udp
RPC: 135 tcp/udp
Netbios NS: 137 tcp/udp
Netbios DS: 138 udp
Netbios SS: 139 tcp
LDAP: 389 tcp/udp
LDAP o/SSL: 636 tcp *
SMB: 445 tcp/udp
RPC AD: 1026 tcp **
Global Cat: 3268 tcp
GC o/SSL: 3269 tcp *

* may not be required
** requires that the Active Directory rpc service is fixed to that port
