No Log On Screen Needed

I used to boot right up to the desktop on my home computer using Windows XP
SP2 Home Edition. Then, one of my programs required me to establish a .net
account. Now, even though I log on as the system owner and have no password,
instead of booting right up to the desktop, I get the Welcom User Screen,
and a request to enter my password, which I get rid of by just inputting
enter. How can I revert back to booting right up to the desktop without this
intermediate and time consuming step? Thanks.

You probably installed something that needs .Net 1.1. If you apply the
updates to .Net 1.1, this should solve the automatic logon problem. See
this for the explanation:

If updating .Net 1.1 doesn't work, here's how to reset the automatic logon:

Configure Windows to Automatically Login (MVP Ramesh) -
