No...that is by design...

You could use something like UltraVNC as an alternative...

If you just want to transfer files look at a VPN or a Secure Shell (SSH)
link...

is there any way to connect to a pc with remote desktop and not
have that pc log off?

Well - technically, yes. In a few ways natively - one is just semantecs - a
play on your words. The second is unsupported because you replace a file or
two and hack the registry in order to achieve it and the last uses third
party applications subbing in for Remote Desktop.

First - if you are already logged onto the console of the machine as the
same user you are using to remote into the machine with - the machine is
*locked*, but you are not logged off. You can even 'push' the console
screen back - so that the screen is no longer locked on the remote end *when
you are done*. While you are using the remote desktop, however, the screen
is locked.

Second - there is a way to use files from the beta release of SP2 to "hack"
Windows XP to allow the use of multiple remote desktop sessions with
different users. For example.. You have a machine with USERA, USERB and
USERC. You could - using this method - have USERA logged directly into the
machine - using it in front of the monitor.. Then USERB and USERC could
connect remotely and use it at the same time without disturbing USERA -
unless they installed something or did something deliberately to disturb
them.

Last - something like TightVNC or UltraVNC could be used. That way the
local screen shows exactly what you are doing.

thank u so much, u r my hero!!!
