No license on my machine to run Access 97

Can you help me with this error. It show up when I try to run Access 97 on my Windows XP machine? I have recently purchased a new XP machine and had an older version of Access. I installed Access 97 and I get the following message.

"Microsoft Access can't start because there is no license for it on this machine

Can someone help me with this?
