No JIT Settings/Options in IE6SP1

Somehow my JIT options do not appear on the advanced
setting tab and MS Java VM will not install. Sun Java
will install with console, but still no JIT options. I
need to run the MS Java VM. I cannot reinstall IE6SP1;
the KB 318378 does not work. It states that some of the
MS install files are not signed and setup halts. The
only other option I have is to reinstall/repair XP Prof
and I dread that task.

Please define 'MS Java VM will not install'. Precise error messages please,
not paraphrasing.
