no javascript in IE since yesterday

Hello,
javascript does not work. I've got Winxp. The security options are ok. With
netscape I can do javascript. I also can't use microsoft windowsupdate
because of this problem. how can i fix it?

Lutz -

Active Scripting (disabled) is probably at fault. Windows Update should be
added to the Trusted Sites Zone. For all other web sites (unknown and /or
not trusted) which one accesses through normal channels (Internet Zone), the
Active Scripting should at least be set to Prompt. I disable it altogether.
If you are on a page and have not chosen to allow the Scripting to occur,
you must refresh the page. When the prompt dialogue appears, click yes.
If the Active Scripting is disabled, then you must enable it first, and then
re-load the page for Java Applets to function.
