I recently installed the Microsoft Beta AntiSpyware and
after 8 scans it still finds 'No known issues'. Is this
normal, i would have thought that it would have found
something. I used to run Spybot and Adaware but removed
them when i installed this fearing it might not be a good
idea to have them all as it might cause problems.
But my real question is whether this means the Beta
spyware is working properly as i find it hard to believe
that there is nothing to be found??
thanks

Make sure you are running latest definitions.

This i latest fingerprint, menu Help-About

Microsoft AntiSpyware Version: 1.0.509
This version expires on: 2005-07-31
Spyware Definition Version: 5693 (2005-02-26 17:05:38)

Product ID: 76831-000-0000012-00123

You can check this with menu File-Check for updates.

I would advice you to keep at least Adaware for manual scans
beacuse
you need a redundant spywarehunters.
There are no known appcompat issues about these programs

I was getting this so uninstalled MSAS and reinstalled it
then it began working (Minus data miners though)

Well, like Plun said, just make sure automatic updates are enabled to ensure
you have the latest definitions.

I did not say that, I adviced her to do a manual check.

I dont trust automatic updates. I´ve seen to many
blocked Live Updates and messed up PC's.
