If there's no header, you can't. Internal IrDA headers are typically
functioning in exchange of the second serial port - so look in the BIOS for
a setting defining the operation mode of the second UART (normal = output
goes to serial port, IrDA = output goes to internal IrDA header, there might
be other non-IrDA infrared settings too). If you don't find any such
options, I guess the board doesn't support it. What's the relevant info in
the manual?
Internal IrDA dongles are just tranceiver devices - i.e. the input on the
header pins is already in IrDA protocol format. The serial-to-IrDA
conversion is performed by the multi I/O controller. Theoretically you could
convert your internal IrDA dongle into an external serial port one (those
have both RS-232-to-IrDA converter and of course the actual IrDA infrared
tranceiver) but you'd need such an RS-232-to-IrDA converter and I have no
clue whether such a beast exists as an easily purchasable, logically priced,
standalone device.
In the end it may make more sense to just buy an external dongle.
