Hi,
I have 2 computers sharing a broadband connection
through a router. The one box is running 2000 Pro and the
other is running XP Home. I have both computers setup for
hibernation. When the XP box comes out of hibernation it
can't access the internet untill I rebbot it. The 2000
box works fine everytime. I can ping the router and thats
works fine. The 2 computers can ping each other. I even
type ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew and the
computer still won't access the internet untill a reboot.
I bought a new LinkSys nic to replace the factory
installed Realtek, and that doesn't work either. I even
changed a setting on the LinkSys nic so that it does not
lose power duirng hibernation, and I verfied this with the
link light on the router. I suspect that after a few
hours the ISP assigns me a new IP address, but yet the XP
box still doesn't function coerrectly. I have all the
correct network connections configured so that everything
is auotmated, so if anyone can help I would certainly
appreciate it!
Thanks!
