I have 2 computers sharing a broadband connection. One
is XP HOme and the other is 2000 Pro. They both into
hiberbation. When they wake, only the Pro can conect to
the internet, the XP needs rebotted. They both have
LinkSys Nics. The Both are set for 100 Full. They are
networked together, anc access each other. The XP is
enabled for auotmatically detecting everything. I tried
troubleshooting the Xp's Nic by changing the setting so
it doesn't turn off during hibernation, but that doesn't
work either. Even typing ipconfig /release, then renew
doesn't bring internet connectivity untill I reboot.

Any ideas?

Hi,
Any ideas?

Update the nic driver or don't use hibernate. It sometimes just will not
work this way, you may need to back down the level to S3 or S2.

I thought about not using hiberbation. I might try put
my computer to stand-by. Then after a set # of hours
have it go to hibernation. Waht do you mean by S3 and
S2? I've updated my drivers. I would like to save power
by by hibernating.

Hi,

S2 and S3 are different levels of standby, S4 is hibernate. This is usually
set in the system BIOS's power management.
