No image in preview monitor

I have sound, but no image to watch of the video. Both size choices are
greyed out. This has no effect on anything else as I'm able to download
files from my camera and get them to CD and play them, I'm just not able to
edit obviously... running WMM 2.1
 
I drop a video effect on a video in the timeline: Result I canot see the
video at all in preview and if I make a video, it shows me a black screen
with sound from the movie track. Need Helo
