No hour glass displayed while loading page

Any suggestions? When navigating to another website, which typically takes
some time to completely load, the cursor just sits there with a blank page.
There is no indication that the page is still in the process of being loaded
(for example, the hour glass w/ the cursor). If you go to the very top of
the screen it (the hour glass)appears, but if on the actually blank page its
just the cursor. Is this an inherent problem with Internet Explorer?

This is typical behavior when you think about it. A blank page will use the
default document cursor which is the IBeam. The fact that IE is still busy
navigating is still indicated by the Throbber, the status bar and an
hourglass cursor over the IE toolbar.
