Hi,
History problems can be caused by the ActiveX Control filters in McAfee
AntiVirus. If you disable the "Active X Controls" filter under the Internet
Filters in VirusScan the IE History should work properly.

Or... Your History folder may be damaged.
Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder and a new one will be created when you restart.

Or the History folder can be deleted manually:
See: How To Delete the Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files:

Hope this helps,
Don

Many thanks Don. Will give all that a try.

This seems to have worked for me. I haven't had history since upgrading to
sp1 (win2k_pro) last summer.

I like to keep a few months worth of history and it's just been a real pain
in the a** since the upgrade broke everything. I have Mcafee 4.5.1 running
and I just turned off checking for ActiveX controls. Voila-now there's
something in the history pane.

Even the autocompletions were saving less than half a dozen choices. I
haven't been online long enough to see if that's corrected yet.

What changed in ie6sp1 that was f***ed up by the virus scanner checking the
activeX controls?

I'd much prefer if it would block macromedia checking for new versions...

Ciao
