No History Appears

When I try to view history, nothing ever appears. The
only thing that works is to search for a page previously
visited, then it finds things. But it won't show anything
by date or by site. My settings are defaults and keep
pages for 20 days. Any ideas?

Thanks

I've read a number of messages about Favorites lists that have gone
missing but turned out to be designated hidden, apparently after doing
a particular windows update (I don't know which one). You might want
to go to Find to locate your History folders, then double-click on the
one located in the documents and settings\username area to see that
the contents are as expected. You'll need to be sure that hidden
folders can be shown via Control Panel\ Folder Options.

I've right-clicked my own, and the option to hide is greyed out, so it
theoretically this shouldn't be possible. It's something to check,
though.

Do post back with your results.

Alex,
"I can't even find the Local Settings folder in the path you provided for
WINXP"
Open Windows Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | View
Select: "Display contents of system folders"
Select: "Show hidden files" (Ok the prompt)
Uncheck: "Hide protected OS files", click Ok
"do I have to create a new one or will IE do that automatically"
A new folder will be created on reboot

Mike,

Thanks for the info, but I can't even find the Local
Settings folder in the path you provided for WINXP. Is it
hidden or something?
When I do delete this folder (if I find it) do I have to
create a new one or will IE do that automatically?

Thanks,

Alex

Possibly your History folder is corrupt:
