Hello
I have a Canon scanner which is usb 2
Had to re-install WinXP from the recovery cd and now when i use my
scanner i get the message "hi-speed usb device plugged into a non
hi-speed usb hub, this device will function at a reduced speed"

I wasn't getting this message before the XP re-install
Anyone know why this has happened and how to fix please

http://www.usbman.com and download the updated USB 2.0 drivers. You
can also get them from Microsoft's web site.
make sure that the device is not plugged in when you do the driver
update. Then turn the computer on and off and then reinstall the Canon
drivers and then plug in the unit. it should work as before.

I have a Canon scanner which is usb 2

I've got a canon LiDE 30. The manual says USB 2.0 (USB 1.1) and an
additional sheet of paper as update to the manual says: the specification
has been change from USB 1.1 to USB 2.0 Fullspeed (note the "Fullspeed").

The scanner reports itself as USB 1.1 and that's ok, because USB 2.0
Fullspeed is just a new name to USB 1.1. The real USB 2.0 is USB 2.0
HighSpeed!

More interessting is the question whether it's possible to disable this
stupid message in XP. I get these message on a XP pc at work every time I
connect our digital cam. And I just don't need this more than once...

Cheers,
Carsten

A firewire card (with cable) is just $30 US. All the USB crap Microsoft has
generated by not supporting USB 2.0 under Windows XP will mean nothing and
everything will magically work properly.

My Canon 3000f is rated USB 2.0 High speed!

Seems to be working OK since i got SP1 loaded
