Some how my pictures got erased from my camera's media card. When I tried to view and download it said no pictures. Is it possible to still some how salvage them? Or are they truly gone forever?

Thanks,

Sue

You can recover your pictures.

Make a new folder on your C drive.

Name it Recovery

Go to this site:

http://www.foto-erhardt.de/modules.php?name=Downloads

Download the free file: Digital Image Recovery in your Recovery folder.

The file will be Digital Image Recovery.zip

Once in your folder you need to "unzip" or "extract" this .zip file.

When you unzip or extract this .zip file select your Recovery folder for the
destination.

You will now have the file: 32fsu21.exe in this folder.

Double click on it to install the software.

Once installed you can change the language from German to English when the
software start.

Follow the directions on your screen after you start this software, very
easy to use and very good. You only need to connect your camera with the
card inserted in it, open My Computer and look under Storage with removable
drive. There should be a drive letter (E,F,G or H) for your camera. You
select this letter when the software opens to scan a drive for recovery.

Maybe you never used a zip/unzip software. If so post again and I will find
a free one for you or just use google to find one.

Several available.

===================================
Have you tried the utility that's built into Win XP?

(From WinXP Help)
"To extract all files or folders, right-click the
compressed folder, and then click Extract All.
In the Compressed (zipped) Folders Extraction
Wizard, specify where you want to store the
extracted files. "

No. I am so used to pkzip. I never looked at Extract All. But this is a good
idea, easier to use for someone without installed zip software. Thanks.

Am very interested in this discussion as I have also lost over 100 images in
the same manner.
Question to Yves Alarie, have gone to the site, found the download page but
have no idea which is the file to download. I should like to follow this
through
Cheers Mike

P.S. Again a question to Yves Alarie....looking ahead I checked with XP re
the drive letter for the camera, does not say, I'm guessing it will be E ,
as it is next down the line ???
Mike

I just checked the site and this download does not seem to be available
anymore.
I still have the file Digital Image Recovery.zip
It is 573KB. Send me an e-mail at rd50@@.pitt.edu
(removing the obvious@)
and I will e-mail it to you. You unzip it and then install the software
under Program files and start it from there.
XP may indeed not list the drive letter but as long as your camera is listed
I would guess it would be indeed the next letter.
There is also another free image recovery here:

or one for sale here:
