I just upgraded to XP SP2 and, as a result, expected to find the
GPEDIT.MSC group policy editor on my system but it's not present. Isn't
that supposed to be part of SP2? In any case, where can I get this
editor?

Thanks,
David

AFAIK it only comes with WinXP Professional.

Thanks for the quick reply but that news items couldn't be found.

Upgrade to XP Pro, and it'll be yours.

What "news item"? He was just referencing your own first post. XP Home
does not include the Group Policy Editor; only XP Pro does. Service
Pack 2 does not include the Group Policy Editor.

I guess the real question is why do you think you need GPEDIT.MSC.
Most of the options can be placed in a .reg file and merged.

I'm trying to set the default state of the 'Automatically accept calls'
in NetMeeting to on. I received a process for doing this using
GPEDIT.MSC.

Yes.

Thanks but it seems that the tool doesn't offer the feature I was
looking for in particular, ie., to set NetMeeting to automatically
accept calls.

Thanks.

The Group Policy Editor is a component of WinXP Pro. No service pack
will give it to WinXP Home.
