No General Internet Options Tab

S

Steve Loeffelholz

One day I went to change my homepage and found that
the "General" tab under Tools/Internet Options was gone.
If anyone knows why this would be or how to get it back I
would appreciate the help. Thanks.

Hello Steve,

If you are running Windows XP, then
I suggest you visit MS-MVP Kelly's website at
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Note the instructions at the top of the page,
then scroll down to line 268,
(Restore All Tabs under Internet Options)

Right-click the hyperlink, then click | Save Target As |
to download the file, "iegentabs.reg",
then double-click the file and follow the prompts.

Includes: Restore the missing Tabs in IE (usually spyware related)
Note: restoring the missing tab(s) without scanning for spyware
will not remove the culprit that now exists on your system.
