Microsoft appreciates our input, but they, like everyone else, appreciate our
money moreso. I think it's ridiculous that they charge $35.00 to get support
by email for Outlook 2003. Can't you get good help anymore? Apparently not.

Support here is free, but we aren't able to detect your problems using
osmosis.

The reason they charge is because there are a good number of people who
would call before trying to solve their problem on their own - and it costs
upwards of $35 per call for a short call. A difficult problem can take a lot
longer, with costs a lot higher.

Thank you for your reply, Diane, I'm sorry, it's just that sometimes when I
get frustrated, I don't know how to vent my frustration. And sometimes the
only thing I can think about is getting my words of frustration out somewhere
where maybe someone else will read it.

Anyway, my problem, No more than two weeks ago, I switched my ISP from
PeoplePC Online to SysMatrix.Net. I prefer the latter because they don't use
any software. It's a direct dial-up. However, my new problem is that
Outlook, and IE, as I discovered tonight, is that both programs automatically
dialup my ISP. Under Internet Options, I always have "Never dial a
connection" checked, because I'm a control freak, and I prefer to do
everything in my life manually. In Outlook, I checked the "Connect using my
phone line" and "Connect using Internet Explorer's or third party dialer",
each with the same automatic dial-up result.

I have been with SysMatrix.Net before, but it has never automatically dialed
up like this before. Do you have any ideas?

Again, I really appreciate your response. Have a good day! :)

I apologize; it seems the problems lies with the PC needing an internet
connection in general. Outlook, IE, and an online 3-D chat community called
ActiveWorlds all automatically dial out. My problem may not be pertinent
here. I checked with my Dad, who is also a PC Tech Support Rep, and
hopefully he will be able to help me.

Without knowing what the error message is (it's not in the transcript) or
your version (it's that osmosis thing again) - I can only guess you need to
delete the *.srs files in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Creating a new profile using a new name for the
profile (don't delete the profile and create a new one using that name) has
the same effect - however unless your school uses exchange server, a new
profile connecting to an exchange account might not work. :)
