My floppy drive is not working period. In my computer and hardware profile its
there but no response.msi kt266pro board .I verified with 3 differant drives
so its not floppy drives.I changed around cables and tried other cables to be
safe.Uninstalled floppy controller and it was found again but when i leave a
disc in there is no error and "no disc in drive a" when i try to use it.One
of the ways the cable hooks up the power light stays on,other way
nothing.HHEEELLLPPPP...keith

When the light always stays on it's often because the data (ribbon)
cable is not correctly connected. The red stripe on the cable indicates
pin #1 and it should be towards the power cable on the back of the
drive, on the motherboard it should be aligned to pin 1. If you are
indeed sure that the cable is correctly placed then the floppy
controller on the motherboard could be defective.

There are a number of possibilties here, including that the drive itself has
failed one way or another (you can replace it for around $10) or the cable
is incorrectly attached.
