No-Flash browser wanted

Is there a browser or an IE shell that will completely ignore flash crap
and/or prevent flash crap from loading?
I'm using Avant now and it stops only the display.
The flash crap still tries to download, which delays page loads.
Thanks,

I uninstalled all "flash crap" several years ago. If I want to view an
..swf, then I save it to HDD, and view it with Irfanview. If you think
you might have the same preferences that I do, where it will never occur
that you will want to load any "flash crap" with your browser, then
perhaps you will want to take the same extreme strategy. Uninstall
Macromedia. The flash directives in html are consequently ignored
completely.

If, on the other hand, you think there might arise an occasion where
you want to keep the option, then it's back to your original question.
The MyIE2 folks might have something to put in, with its features there.

Or, another approach, what about categorically disallowing active-x in
your IE "internet" zone? Would that achieve the correct effect?

(With the no-active-x setting for default, you'd then put microsoft.com
and similar in your "trusted"/promiscuous zone for when you want to do
Windows Update etc.)

I use SlimBrowser that has it

Just get FireFox and don't install the Flash plugin. Or do install
it, and use the "Flash Block" plugin:

It doesn't always have to be difficult :-)

Te moo. Eh, me too. Sure wish somebody would resume development of
Prefbar. It's the first one I install when I install a newer version
of Moz (I always do a clean install.)

MyIE2 and probably other browser add-ons have a dedicated icon to toggle
Flash, ActiveX, music, and other annoyances on and off as you wish. Click
click gone.

No! flash works with IE explorer, free ware.

If you pay the guy, you get script/activex spyware blocking

I've been using it for a week, very sweet

I would highly recommend this option -- the latest version of the
Flashblock plugin does a great job, replacing all Flash animations
with its own nice little play button -- not the big grey eyesore of
previous versions. Flash remains fully functional if you need it for
navigation or whatever, just click the play button and it starts
loading. Plus, with Firefox you get the added benefit that you won't
get those nasty "Install Gator?" popups anymore, and it has built-in
popup blocking.

At the risk of being cliche, "Two thumbs up, way up!"
