No Fax Preview available?

Faxing a MSWord document (WindowsXP|Pro) using the File|Print
approach. Wizard comes up okay etc. But when I push the Preview Fax
button prior to Send I get a message, No Fax Preview Available.

In the past this was not a problem: I could preview the fax and all
prior faxes for that matter. Somehow a file must have been corrupted.
Is there a fix (perhaps a Remove the Add under Windows Components?)

Thanks!

Well, I did the add|remove procedure twice and I did get my Fax Console
back. The sent faxes are all displayed BUT when I click on one fax hoping to
get a preview I now get an error message:

"The Operation cannot be completed"

I push the Details button and then get this message:

"The system cannot find the path specified.
(3, 2200001366)"

Huh?

How do I access this patch?

Found the patch. Downloaded it, installed it successfully, rebooted, went to
Fax preview, clicked on an archived fax and got the same message: "The
Operation cannot be completed"

Ugh! (but thanks anyway)

Did you read the documentation for tha patch and did the patch apply to your
setup?
There are many other causes for this problem. Most often, this problem
arises because some other imaging application that you installed has set
itself as the default viewer for TIF files. To view faxes from the Fax
Console, the Windows Imaging and Fax viewer must be your default viewer for
TIF files. You can easily restore that setting in Windows Explorer > Folder
Options. File Types. For most users the command line should read:

"rundll32.exe <drive>:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1"

Another common cause of this problem is firewall software Trojan horse
rules. The most common is one that ships with Norton Internet Security.
Details on that on are available here:

Boy!, was this ever helpful!

First I was able to preview faxes, then suddenly I wasn't and the error message, "Application not found (-2147221003, 2200001366)" was displayed under extended information.

Googled the error message, found my way here, fixed the File Association problem, and Bob's your uncle.

Unfortunately, however, it means extra steps with getting *.tif images into PhotoShop now!

Good information… thank you, MVP Valentine.
