no fax console after installation

i installed using the add windows programes the fax service, it seemed
to install ok no error messages etc but but the fax console is not
there only an empty icon fax- then empty in communications etc, i have
tried reinstalling it over again but the console icon is missing. help
is it somwhere else on the c drive.

Many users who have updated an older version of Windows XP to SP2 before
they try to install the fax service appear to be encountering a problem
installing the fax service. In these cases there is no error message during
the installation (distinguishing this from the very common problem where the

risk if you provide a valid email address and can accept zip files as

to are not very clear. Can u pls help?

!. Get the hotfix mentioned in the KB article Russ listed and install it.
Microsoft usually waives any charges for support calls to get supported
hotfixes listed in Knowledge Base articles.
