When you right click on the your cd/dvd drive icon in my computer there is
meant to be an Explore item in the pop-up context menu.

On my machine this has disappeared. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

I had that recently happen when I installed my new Pioneer 112D DVD burner.
Turns out there is a faulty batch of them that won't detect, burn or copy
CD's but do detect DVD's. (to a certain extent anyway)
The right click menu will always reflect what optione ARE available so if
it's not offerring "Explore" then I suspect it isn't detecting the disc. Not
a blank? Try one off a calalogue? This burner I have appears to burn a data
CD but then will never show anything on it afterwards.
Pretty much trial & error I'm afraid. Might be just a burnt out laser?

Thanks for your reply. I have solved the problem but it was nothing to do
with the drive. The culprit was globalscape cuteftp 8. When you install this
it adds items to the explorer context menus. It seems it does this by
replacing some items that are already there (must be a bug)! When I switched
this intergration off through cuteftp's options screen the explore item and
the others cuteftp had replaced, were back!
